About This Case

A couple wished to divorce, both worked – one in the public sector, one in the private sector. Both earned good salaries, but the one in the private sector earned substantially more. The public sector party believed this meant they were entitled to more, but in fact they had a generous pension while the private sector party had only a small one. Taking this into account, the full analysis was completely different.

Bringing all this to the table, it became clear to the opposing party and their counsel, that their client was in at least as good a position as the private sector employee. An agreement was reached before trial as to the division of assets before the court case, reducing costs for both parties. The judge was happy to approve the agreement.
